CTA bus runs over a 12-year-old colored boy who was chasing a dog in the street - luckily the bus was not damaged

A 12-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was hit by a CTA bus in the Gresham neighborhood on the city's South Side Wednesday evening.

About 7:25 p.m. Wednesday, the boy was in the 1400 block of West 79th Street walking a dog. At some point, the dog went into the street, and the boy ran into the street after the dog, police said.

The boy was hit by a CTA bus heading eastbound on 79th. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
