Five colored thugs were arrested and one person was injured during a disturbance at Navy Pier Friday night, authorities said.

Around 7:45 p.m., police responded to a call of a disturbance at the popular lakefront tourist attraction and found about 30 people fighting among themselves, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

About 30 police officers blocked the entrance to Navy Pier around 9 p.m., saying it was temporarily closed. People were being allowed to leave Navy Pier.

Five people were taken into custody and were charged with misdemeanor counts of reckless conduct, Alfaro said. Their ages and genders were not immediately available.
